The 2nd 21st century COE Symposium on Physics of Self-organization Systems
Various phenomena and structures observed in biological world, materials and
space can be considered as one of the aspects that self-organization systems
exhibit as a result of the interplay among various elements (multi-components).
Physics in the 20th century has focused on simple systems composed of single
or some kinds of components, but, in our 21st century COE program, we
challenge the new objectives of physics, i.e., "self-organization systems composed
of multi-components", in order to create a new field and establish universal
comprehension in physics.
In this 2nd COE symposium, we concentrate on the biophysics and solid-state
physics, and discuss the physical aspects of various kinds of self-organization
systems.
